Ronald Louis Gosnell, Sr.

January 10, 1944~November 06, 2020

On Friday, November 6, 2020, at the age of 76, Ronald Louis Gosnell, Sr. was reunited with the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Patricia Ann Trott Gosnell, who passed away on September 24, 2015. Ronald was born on January 10, 1944 in Sudley, MD to Bruce Wallace Gosnell and Pearl Marie Laster Gosnell. Ronnie was a very hard worker all of his life, having had a number of successful careers. Starting out as a mechanic for James Laster Wrecker Service in Rogersville, TN. After moving to Jacksonville, FL, he began working for Barton International as a certified gas and diesel mechanic. Next Ronnie took on the positions of head mechanic, truck foreman, and driver for his brother Grady’s hauling business Double G Trucking. He then worked as an over-the-road driver for KB Cold Storage. Ronnie started his last career briefly as an equipment operator, but quickly took on and excelled in the position of surveyor at 4K Construction, retiring after 25 years with that company. Ronnie enjoyed many hobbies with his wife, siblings, and children including pool, golf, bowling, fishing, stock car racing, and RC cars and airplanes. He built amazing things with his hands and had a passion for teaching and musical instruments. Among many instruments, he mastered the piano, acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars, and the banjo. Ronnie touched so many lives and he will be missed by many, but the love and lessons that he taught will be remembered and carried on for many generations. Pat loved to sew, crochet, and make custom special occasion cakes. Over the years she was sought after for her one-of-a-kind work of art cakes. She also made many beautiful dolls that are still enjoyed by her family today. Ronnie and Pat were known as the neighborhood parents, providing a safe and supportive haven for all the kids in the area. They loved to laugh and spend time with their always growing family. Ronnie and Pat especially loved antique cars, watching football, watching Nascar races, and playing cards with family and friends. Ronnie and Pat are survived by their siblings, Ronnie: Grady (Mary), Kyle (Irene), Judy, Diane (Tony), Darlene (Jerry), and Pat: Henry, David, and Amelia, as well as their children Terri (George), Richard, Debbie, Kenny, and Ronnie, Jr. (Dawn). They also leave behind 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
