Sandra Sue (Kinard) Travis, age 79, went to be with our Lord Monday, January 17, suddenly in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida but later relocated to Palatka, Florida to care for her parents. Sandra was a retired nursing assistant for the elderly and was a loving, caring lady. She was a true lover of pets.
was preceded in death by her parents Robert M and Mary C (Bethea) Kinard, her infant son, Robert (Robby) Travis, Jerry N Turner, and her brother Stanley Kinard.
Sandra lives behind her two daughters, Carol (Jerry) Turner, and Patricia and (Gary) Gray. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Billy (Rebecca) Leeka, Travis (Victoria) Turner, Kelli Turner / Cory Polin. 10 great-grandkids and three great , great – grandkids. Her sisters, Maryann (Bill) Green, Joyce Stevens, brothers, Bobby (Sandy) Kinard.
Sandra was a wonderful and devoted Mother, Nanny and Big Nanny, she always gave everything she had to her family. She will be highly missed by all who knew her but we know she’s at peace and back with family in heaven.
Being Covid-19 precautions the family will hold a private memorial at her home and we will announce other arrangements at a later time.

Anytime I was ever around Sandy, she had a perpetual smile. She and my sister were close so I find it interesting that she passed on Sissy’s birthday. So, I imagine heaven is experiencing a lot of laughter and giggling right about now. Maybe she and Stanley are reminiscing about the time he and I stole her convertible from in front of the drug store where she was working. Stanley drove it of course. I was just a partner in crime. He even parked the car in the back of building when we returned from our short excursion. Sandy never realized it had been moved until we told her years later. She found it all to be amusing. I feel certain that we will see each other again so til then, carry on cuz.
