Kenneth Wayne Barron, Sr., of Macclenny, Florida passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023 surrounded by his children after a long battle with vascular dementia.
He is preceded in death by his father O. B. Barron, his mother Montie Lewis Nicholls and bonus father, Russell Nicholls, one sister, Eugenia Ammons; wife of 48 years, Joy Barron; two sons, Kenneth Barron, Jr., and Gene Barron; and two great granddaughters, Savannah White and Trinity Barron.
He is survived by one sister, Barbara Nicholls, four children: Kimberly Douglas, Teresa (Herb) Morris, Lisa (Ernest) Odom, and David Barron; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kenneth was born and raised in Flint, Michigan July 24th, 1938. A veteran of the US Navy, he was a printer for many years with the Florida Times Union before he began his career with the Seafarers in 1977. He served 23 years in the United States Merchant Marine, and enjoyed his retirement for many years with family and friends.
Brother W. Stewart Barton of Faith Baptist Church of Macclenny, Florida will be officiating the service at Fraser Funeral Home at 8168 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville, Florida.
