James Thaniel Thompson, 68, entered into the presence of Jesus on November 17, 2022, and was reunited with his father, Ira Thompson, Sr., mother, Johnnie Mae Thompson, and sister, Lendy Gordon. He was a native of Jacksonville, Florida, but was most recently a resident of Palm Coast, Florida. James is survived by his wife, Heather Penafiel and her 2 children: her son, Donovan, and her daughter, Lily. He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Latrell Tillotson and her 3 sons: Eldest grandson-Anthony James Tillotson, father of his eldest great-granddaughter, Skylar Jane Tillotson whose mother is deceased; Middle grandson-Jakob Thomas Tillotson, married to Taylor Nicole Tillotson, parents of 2nd great-granddaughter, Phoebe Nicole Tillotson; Youngest grandson-Joseph Aaron Tillotson. James is survived by his 4 brothers: Ira Thompson, Jr., Carl Thompson, George Thompson, and Sam Thompson; by 9 of his 10 sisters: Kristi Whitfield, Gracie Thompson, Misty Thompson, Dora Brown, Liz Thompson, LaVona Flynt, Brenda Mosley, Shasta Baldwin, and April Lee. Funeral services will be held on, Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1:00pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3436 Lane Avenue N., Jacksonville, FL, with Pastor Dean Starling officiating followed by interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 1:00pm.
