Shirley Ann Houser, age 83, passed away, August 28, 2023. Shirley was born in Montgomery, VW on December 19, 1939, to the parents of Edison and Doris Banks and ended up Jacksonville, Fl as a military wife.
She was married to Leo Houser and they had a wonderful, happy marriage. Shirley was grief stricken at the passing of Leo, her one true love.
Shirley worked in Radiation Therapy at St. Vincent’s and then to Mayo Clinic, where she retired. She loved her job and the people she worked with at both hospitals. She was missed when she retired.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Laura Bond (Keith), a granddaughter, Ashley, her one and only great granddaughter, Ava, whom she adored. She had to show you all the photos of Miss Ava and a grandson, Nicholas and stepson, Leo Allen.
Shirley had several neighbors whom she truly loved. Her neighbors were very caring and helped her immensely during recent months. They were truly a Godsend. The family sincerely appreciates the love and kindness from Pat and Robert, Sandy and Richard.
Shirley loved gardening, flowers and weed free yard! For many years she cross stitched gifts for everyone. She also was a huge country music fan. She could listen for hours and talk for hours about her favorite performances.
Shirley had a huge heart and will be missed.

I have known Shirley since 1983. We worked together in a local hospital. What I remember about Shirley she was a hard worker and had an infectious smile. Then we were employed at another facility and she still had that same smile and she loved her work. She was always someone you could talk to and go away with a big smile. Peace be with you. I truly miss you as a great friend. Love you.
