Vanes Jean Dely, born on May 31, 1960, in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti, passed away on September 27, 2023. At a young age, he relocated to Port-au-Prince alongside his elder sister, where he kindled a flame of inspiration in the hearts of local children by dedicating himself to teaching amidst the city’s vibrant streets. He found solace and joy both on the soccer field and in the enchanting melodies of French ballads. With a character marked by intelligence, determination, and an admirable nature, he became a positive influence in his community.
In 1987, he embarked on a new chapter by moving to the United States in pursuit of better opportunities. A man of serenity and tranquility, he cherished the warmth of his family and close friends. As the sixth of ten siblings, he played a vibrant role in the intricate tapestry of their lives. His lifelong pursuit of knowledge extended to mastering various languages, from Creole and French to English, with a brief foray into Spanish.
Now, as his life’s journey comes to an end, he leaves behind two daughters and three grandchildren. His legacy is a testament to a life richly lived, marked by inspiration, passion, and enduring family bonds.
