Guy Richard Gourley, known to many as Rick, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away at home on the morning of October 14, 2023, from a long battle of cancer. He fought to the end. He is predeceased by his mother, Margaret Gourley and his father, Muriel Gourley, his brother Raymond Gourley, his sister Dale Padgett. He left behind his wife of 39 years, Diana Gourley, 2 sons, Guy R Gourley, Jr. and Derrick R. Gourley (Lisa), 7 grandchildren, Angelica, Matthew, Jessica, Andrew, Michael and Johsua Gourley all of Tulare, California and Danielle K. Gourley of Jacksonville, FL, 2 stepchildren, Shari Will and George Cook both of Jacksonville, FL. He left behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rick was born in Jacksonville, FL lived his early years in Middleburg and Orange Park, Florida. He graduated from high school in 1971. He enjoyed the outdoor life, hunting, fishing and boating. He played baseball and later in life he played softball with many of the players on the team were people that worked with him. He enjoyed every minute of it.
After the bad automobile accident inf 1995, while working for McKenzie Tank Lines, he was unable to continue with playing softball.
Rick loved all the people that worked with him. He left McKenzie Tank Lines in 1998 and went to work for Westway Trading, which was later sold to Tidewater Transit. He retired with Tidewater Transit February 2019.
Rick met many people over his lifetime. Rick had a great personality and took care of the people that worked for him. Many of these people are still his friends today.
Rick will be missed by many but will live on in our memories.

NY heart goes out to Diane and the family. We have been neighbors and friends for over 30 years. Rick was the best. God bless him and God bless the family.
