Hilda Faircloth Gay, 83, of Jacksonville, FL passed away February 14, 2024. Hilda was born January 17, 1941 to parents Paul and Ethel Faircloth. The Faircloths located to Jacksonville in 1954 where Hilda would attend and graduate from Robert E. Lee High School and meet her neighbor and future husband, John.
Hilda and John were married in 1961 and remained residents of Jacksonville for their entire marriage. They had two sons, Jeffrey and Christopher, and Hilda is now reunited with a daughter in Heaven. After high school, Hilda worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company, but upon motherhood, spent her years as a full time wife and mother, the roles she cherished most.
Hilda is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; sons Jeff (LeaAnn) and Chris (Becky); grandchildren Jessica, Lauren (Josh), Davis, Harrison (Hannah), and Thomas (Lindsey); great-grandchildren Jake, Lucas, Elliott, Henry, Kaydence and Emersyn; and sisters and brother Myra Simmons, Mary Kerr and Sonny Faircloth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, and great-granddaughter Edith.

I was so sorry to hear of Hilda’s passing and continue to lift your entire family up in prayer. She was such a precious lady and it was an honor to call her friend. I have so many fond memories of her and will truly miss her sweet family posts on FB.

I am so sorry to see Mrs Gays passing but rejoice to know she is in her heavenly home. Enjoyed our time at Macedonia Baptist and our ball time we had. Praying for each of you.
