David S. Vann

David S. Vann

February 15, 1943~October 10, 2024

With great sadness, we share the passing of our husband, father, grandfather David Vann. He passed peacefully in his sleep Thursday, October 10, 2024.
David was born February 15, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Guy and Etta Marie Vann. He grew up, married his sweetheart, worked and raised his family on the Westside.
David is predeceased by his parents, his only Brother, Gerry, and his Grandson, Jacob.
David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Scotti, his children Shelly (John) Norris, David (Tammy) Vann, and Cassie (Mike) Wallis. 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grand children and many other family that he loved dearly.
David was a man of honesty and integrity. He was a faithful follower of Christ. You saw that in his daily walk. He taught us to love Jesus. David faithfully served at Westconett Baptist Church as a young adult, to Cedar Hills Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, served as a Deacon, was on different committees and anywhere he was needed. Later he faithfully attended Westside Baptist.
David worked and retired from Public Works at NAS JAX. He was a Foreman and Supervisor in several areas. After retiring you could find him working in his yard, swimming with his grandkids, or helping on the church grounds. He leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and always taking care of his family. He will be loved and missed by us all.
