It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce the passing of George William Davenport Jr. (Billy), of Jacksonville, FL, on March 30,2025 at the age of 75. Billy was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather (Guh), great-grandfather & friend. Billy was known for his sense of humor, his many stories, his love of cars (mostly Chevrolet, GM or Cadillac) and the color red. Billy was born on November 6, 1949 in Jacksonville, Fl., he was a graduate of Ribault High School and FJC Community College. He worked in IT as a Software Specialist for over 35 years, was a veteran of the Florida Air National Guard and an amazing softball player (in his younger days). Anyone that knew Billy, knew that his passion was his family. He loved them more than anything, and was always willing to share a story or brag a little about his boys.
George William Davenport, Jr. was predeceased by his parents George and Martha Davenport. He is survived by the love of his life Joan Jowers Davenport; his pride and joy, Jaime Davenport Pike and her husband James Pike along with their children Connor McCormick, Carter Pike, Caleb Pike & Chase Pike; his precious great grandson Waylon George McCormick and many other extended family and friends.
The service will take place at Westside Baptist Church, located at 7775 Herlong Rd in Jacksonville, Fl., on Thursday, April 3rd at 11:00 am with a visitation time for friends and family beginning one hour prior at 10:00 am. Interment will be Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:00AM in Jacksonville National Cemetery with US Air Force Honors.

Joan: It has been a long time since I have seen George (Prudential) but I had no problem remembering your name since he spoke fondly of you and family very often. George had a great sense of humor and good at his job. I was sorry to hear of his passing.

Larry and Diane Knowles…Joan and Jaime…Larry and I are so heartbroken to hear about Billy’s passing…it was such a shock. Remembering all the good times we had back at Westside. He was always around to give us a great laugh…Larry will always remember seeing him up on the roof adjusting his antenna when he was supposedly sick…they always had a good laugh about that! Joan I know these following days will be hard on you and Jaime…we will keep you in our prayers.
