Betty Ruth Ezell passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Betty was born on July 15,1933 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Allen and Louise Hallicy. She was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville. She was a member of Hart Haven Baptist church and attended regularly prior to her illness. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Betty is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ezell Poweski (David), sisters Hazel Tyner, and Ethel Glover, granddaughter Ashley Ezell Steedley (Billy), great-grandson Jeremy and great-granddaughter Hayven. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Timothy Ezell, and Terry Ezell, and numerous brothers and sisters. Betty was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and mother to not only her own children, but to all the neighborhood kids on Edison Avenue. She was a gentle soul who always had a kind word to everyone she encountered. Betty loved to spend time with her family, ride her bike, go to the beach and Kingsley Lake. Betty loved her fur babies and rescued many feral cats during her lifetime.
