George Alvin Harvey passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the age of 91 in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. George was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved his 5 children and his sweet dog Gracie.
George served as a Paratrooper in the army and later after his time in service he became a firefighter for Jacksonville Fire Department in which he served for over 30 plus years. After retirement some of his hobbies included carpentry and he was a lifelong, active member of Trinity Baptist Church.
George is survived by his 5 children, Al L. Harvey, Arthur C. Harvey and his wife Darlene, George A. Harvey and his wife Melanie, Kenneth A. Harvey and his wife Rose, his daughter Kathryn Ann Harvey and his sister Ann Clemens along with 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Terry R. Harvey, father, George L. Harvey, mother, Vida J. Harvey, brother, Earnest L. Harvey, grandsons, Austin Harvey and Christopher Aaron Harvey and his granddaughter, Nicole Meyer.
George raised 4 boys and 1 daughter who are all very close and loving family who cared for him during the last years of his life during sickness.
George will be missed by his devoted family and friends of Trinity Baptist Church and his sweet, loving dog, Gracie.
Services will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 800 Hammond Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida, 32221 on Saturday, December 02, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Visitation and viewing will be held one hour prior, and burial will be held at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens immediately following service.
