George William Sullivan II, 60, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on July 7, 2024. He is survived by his wife Dale Sullivan of 37 years, as well as his sons, George Sullivan III, Wade (Terry) Tuten, and Jason (Suzanne) Tuten, Sisters Janie Sullivan, Georgia (Rick) Bedard, and Beverly Sullivan, Grandchildren Jesse (Winston) Williams, Lindsey (Ty) Green, Hayden Barwick, Hunter Tuten, Ashley (Johnathon) Esch, Tucker Sullivan and Great-grandchildren Brayden, Kamden, Hayes, and Hudson.
George’s parents, George and Carol Sullivan (deceased) raised their family on the west side of Jacksonville Florida. George was adopted and was the youngest of four children. He will also be sorely missed by all his nieces, nephews, and cousins, who love him dearly. He stayed close with his mom and dad and siblings throughout his life.
George graduated from Edward H. White High School and was always a hard worker. He started his working career as a chef in his early years. He became interested in painting houses and eventually owned his own painting business known as George Sullivan Painting. He was an excellent painter and had more repeat customers than time to take care of all their requests but, the customers were willing to wait their turn for George’s quality of work.
George and Dale enjoyed reggae music and attended concerts and most of all traveling whenever they got the chance. Still in love, together they battled George’s ALS disease after retirement from painting.
George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, family member and a friend to many. His optimism and love of life were evident in all that he did. He will be remembered fondly by many in the days, months and years to come.
God rest his soul.
A Memorial Service will be held at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32221 on July 20, 2024, from 10AM to 1PM, service will begin at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Foundation in honor of George at donate.ALS.org.

George was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever known. I’ve never in 37 years knowing him saw him loose his temper or say an unkind word. He was as solid as they come. Hard worker and devoted family man that could always be counted on. His strength during his battle with ALS was no exception. It’s a shame that we wait until death to say things that we should have told them long ago. He will be missed.

My Mom and I started playing a “random” player on WWF around 12 years ago.” GRINDER” became not so random after the first few years. George went from just a player of words with friends to a friend that we would exchange holiday greetings and competitive jabs back and forth with. My mom and I would pray for him often and would worry about him like family. Once he stopped playing we both were very very sad knowing why. God bless the family he always spoke fondly of. Now I have a face to the stranger/friend that I use to love and hate getting beat by. My condolences to his wife and children. My name is Tammy Farmer in Louisville Ky 🙁

We played WWF for 10 years . I knew very little about him as he was very private and we respected each other that way. It wasn’t until about 4 years ago he shared his illness with me. I feel like I’ve lost a dear friend and I miss our games. My deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and family.
