Hazel Dawson was reunited with her Husband in heaven on December 19th, 2022. Hazel was born in Waycross, GA on July 12, 1943. As a young girl, she later moved to Miami, FL where she finished school and met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Dawson. They were married on November 30th, 1963 and built a full loving life together. Hazel kept herself busy by gardening, shopping, traveling and spending time with friends and family. For those who knew her best, you probably know that cleaning may have been her most favorite pass time. You could always count on Hazel to keep in touch and to make sure she new what was going on in the lives of her friends and family. Some of her favorite times were spent sipping coffee on her back porch and enjoying the plants she had nurtured along with her natural surroundings. She enjoyed making things around her pretty and keeping up with the latest trends she had read about in her extensive magazine collection. She also enjoyed “advising” he four daughters on any number of topics such as fashion, housekeeping, or really just anything at all, which lead to the acronym WWHD, what would Hazel do.

Hazel was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert L Dawson, her brothers Kermit Crews, and Eugene Crews, sisters Eunice Thompson, Vera Crews, and Shirley Zierden. She is survived by her sister, Doris Chariker, her daughters, Carla McMillan and husband Jim, Marnie Smith and husband Wade, Chanda Reyes and husband Victor, Angela Boos and husband Michael, her grandchildren Kyle McMillan, Joshua Smith, Christopher Smith, Victor Reyes, Robert Reyes, Dawson Boos, and by 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 10:00AM in Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Road 13, St. Johns, FL 32259 followed by interment in Oak Grove Memorial Cemetery, Branford, FL. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221.
