Jean Sandifer Chambers Prescott, 91, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024. She was a beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother known affectionately as Nanny.

Jean was born December 26, 1932 in Savannah, Georgia to her parents Ella Ruth and Elias Vernon Sandifer. She was the fourth of nine children.

Jean met and married the love of her life Curtis Chambers and they were married until Curtis’ death. She later married Guy Prescott until his death.

Her devotion and passion were to her family. She was a full time Mother and homemaker throughout most of her adult life attending to the needs of her husband and children. Later she began working with Revlon from which she retired.

Jean is survived by her children: Wayne Chambers; Lynn Shipley (Bert); and Carol Facklam; four grandchildren: Margaret Wright (Doug), Eric Shipley (Morgan), Brianna Facklam, Joshua Facklam and four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and two sisters Anna Heslar and Jo Johns.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Trinity Community Church, 6865 Pine Avenue, Fleming Island, FL on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 am.

Lynn and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know I prayed for comfort for you and your family. There is no hurt God cannot heal. Lean on the Lord and he will get you through this difficult time.
