John Roberson Jr.

December 12, 1948~April 11, 2025

In loving memory of John Roberson Jr. (JR)
John passed peacefully on April 11, 2025 while surrounded by family. He was born December 12, 1948 in McRae, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents John (Bo) and Teressa Roberson and one of his sisters, Dolly Jean Luke (Skeeter). He is survived by his brother Charles Roberson of Jacksonville, FL and three sisters, Betty Nash of Georgetown, FL, Willene Pittman of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Debra Deal (DeJay) of Jacksonville, Fl, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was an electrician by trade, a mechanical engineer (without a degree), an inventor, and served in the United States Army for two years. He grew up with a love for nature and a spirit of adventure. As an avid hunter he spent countless hours in the woods hunting deer, appreciating nature, and telling stories to all of his family and friends. John’s love for hunting was more than just a pastime, it was a testament to patience, skill and deep connection to the natural world that God blessed us with.
John believed in family and strived to pass down all of his valuable knowledge to the younger generation, instilling in them the same appreciation for nature that he had. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family and was always there when needed. John leaves behind a legacy that is rich in love, laughter, and many stories that will never be forgotten.
John will be laid to rest at Jacksonville Veterans National Cemetery and a celebration of life will be held on August 23, 2025 at 11am at the VFW located at 37965 Eastwood Rd. Hilliard, FL 32046.
