Mary Lou Boyd (White) age 92 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Jacksonville.
Mary was born in Chickasaw, Mississippi on November 15, 1932. She was raised on a farm.
Her mother died when she was 4. When she was in 3rd grade her father took her out of school to help tend the home and farm.
Mary married Price Dobbins. During their marriage she would race in the family car…and win!
Later she married Marvin Boyd. During Mary’s marriage to Marvin (Chuck), she travelled to several states as a military wife (U.S. Marine Corp). She loved to travel, going on cruises and to Las Vegas. Mary’s true passion was taking care of her children and cooking. She had a good sense of humor and quick wit, if someone asked her how she felt, she’d reply “with my fingers”.
Mary was preceded in death by her husbands Marvin Boyd and Price Dobbins; son, Wayne Dobbins; her parents, John Thomas White Sr. and Celia Clements; siblings Maybelle, Pauline, Ozell, Charley, Marie, Joanne, and Thomas.
She is survived by 3 sons, Jerry (Debbie) Dobbins, Terry (Karen) Dobbins, and Steven Boyd; 7 grandchildren, (Wayne) Matthew Dobbins, Jennifer Alsobrook-Hyde, (Jerry) Michele, Michael, Cameron, (Terry) Stormy, (Steven) Savannah. 7 great-grandchildren, (Stormy) Bailey, Hayden, Riley, (Matt) Myles, Murphy, (Jennifer) Kallie, (Michael) Tallulah. Brother, John Thomas (JT)
Matt would like to leave you with this: “We love you Grandma “Mas”, God rest your soul. You’ve lived a long and full life! You will finally see your loved ones again. (And one day we will figure out that Mac and Cheese recipe)!

Aunt Mary Lou will always be remembered for the love she showed every time I got to see her. She was always so happy to see us when she got to come visit with Daddy (J.T.). I enjoyed calling her in the past telling her Roll Tide Roll when Alabama beat the Florida Gators in football. Until we meet again, please go rest high on them mountains, I’ll be looking forward to seeing you in Heaven. I love you. Charles
