Norma Iris Beyley Santiago, 69, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on October 22, 2024. She was born on August 24,1955 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Norma was a loving wife, mother, abuela, titi, sister and friend. Norma’s world was “her girls” daughters, Cristina, Viviana, Norma and Laura and her three granddaughters Kate, Claire and Chloe. Family was everything to Norma, gathering for holidays, birthdays and family dinners, where she always insisted on taking “just one more picture”. She loved her brothers and sisters immensely. She was a proud aunt to all her nieces and nephews and loved connecting with them often. Apart from family time, she was an avid sports fan, favoring baseball, specifically the Chicago Cubs. She and Mickey shared their love of baseball by traveling to many different baseball stadiums around the US. She had an impressive memory and a talent for numbers, you didn’t want to be her opponent during a game of dominos or canasta. Her greatest past time was tending to her garden where she has rehabilitated lots of plants from Lowe’s clearance section. She loved what she called “her island” of Puerto Rico. Her love language was cooking delicious native food from the island, which was requested by many. Her famous chicken noodle soup, that she would quickly whip up in a minute, was a magical cure for all sicknesses. She did this for many friends and family. She was an elegant women with style to match. Lastly, one of her greatest loves was her very loyal dog, Jack, whom she affectionately referred to as “my baby boy”. Norma will be missed terribly.
Survivors include her husband Mickey Santiago, three of her daughters Cristina Torres, Norma
(Tony) Turner and Laura (Gary) Messina; her granddaughters Kate Turner, Claire Turner and Chloe
Turner; her sisters, Carlota Beyley, Mercedes Beyley and Julia Beyley; her nephews Javier Perez,
Juan Beyley, Yahzeel Beyley, Jorge Beyley and Kristian Beyley; her nieces, Vanesa Beyley, Veronica Beyley, Ileana Beyley, Sophia Beyley and Karla Jeremias. She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Jorge Beyley, Juan Beyley and David Beyley, her first husband, the father of her children, Cecilio Torres and her loving daughter Viviana Maria Torres.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4-5pm, followed by a Service from 5-6pm at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221.
