Roy G. Fass, Jr.

Roy G. Fass, Jr.

August 26, 1980~December 21, 2024

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 7 PM, Roy George Fass Jr. gained his eternal wings and went home to be with the Lord. He had been newly diagnosed with a rare condition caused by COVID and fought as hard as he possibly could. He had been in the hospital since Halloween. He wanted to come home to be with us for the holidays.

Roy was born on August 26, 1980, in Brooklyn, NY, to Zulma Perez and Roy George Fass Sr. He grew up on 61st Street in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Roy was raised mostly by his grandmother Angelica, along with his aunts and uncles close in age. Roy was especially close with his Uncle Rob, Aunt Angie, and Aunt Lilliana.

Roy moved to Jacksonville in 1998 and met his wife through mutual friends. They became friends, fell crazy in love with one another, soon became inseparable, and became known to everyone as “Roy & Shelby.” He married Shelby on May 1st, 2000, and together they welcomed their beautiful children: Desirae Amber (8/27/00), Marcus Blaise (3/13/02), and Eli James (4/5/11).

Roy was a very hands-on father, deeply involved in his children’s lives. If he couldn’t do it with the kids, he didn’t do it. They did everything together. Roy worked mostly in construction, specializing in underground utilities. He enjoyed the hard work. He worked hard and partnered with his best friend, James Marshall for many years. Many times, it seemed like they spent more time goofing around than working. Roy was a friend to many, always goofing around, cracking jokes, if he liked you then giving you a hard time or some kinda nickname was something he was known for. He was a big teddy bear who always protected his family and friends. Roy was also an amazing grandfather, known as Pop Pop. He loved his grandchildren so deeply, he was so proud. Roy was always authentically himself, no matter the circumstances.

Roy is survived by his wife, Shelby, children, Desirae, Marcus and Eli, his Son in Law, Anthony, his Grandkids, Antonio and Adelaine along with numerous aunts, uncles, and grandchildren.

You and Shelby are the best aunt and uncle to Raygen-onics and Mason that anyone could ask for and they are gonna miss you like crazy! Don’t worry about Shelby I’ll look out for her for you and be there when she needs someone to cry with(cause you know we are crying babies lol)or someone to vent to when she’s stressed or even just someone to randomly check in on her so she knows she’s loved❤️ i won’t say goodbye but I will say see you when I get there and tell corky “HELLOOOOO!?
