Ruby Lee Malo 80, of Kingsland, Ga. passed away in Brunswick, Ga. Friday, October 18th, 2024.
A celebration of life services will be held Monday, October 28th at Fraser Funeral Home located at 8168 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Fl. Family will be from 12 pm – 1 pm and friends from 1 pm – 2 pm. Burial will follow at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery located at 800 Hammond Blvd.
Ruby is survived by her children: Curtis Kent, Linda Kent, Larry Kent (Carol) and Christina Kent. Siblings: Oliver Cromwell (Linda) and Edward “Eddie” Cromwell. Grandchildren: Micheal, Jonathan, Donald, Alyssa, Robyn, Joseph, Scarlett, Ryan, Justin, Cody Martin (Katherine), Melanie, Anthony, Alexis, Xzaviar and Grant and 20 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Roger Malo, both of her parents Robert Sr and Minnie (Veasey) Cromwell, twin sister Rosy “Rosa”, brother Robert Jr. and her sister Mary, her son Jerry Dean and daughter Tracy.
Ruby Lee Cromwell was born March 4, 1944 in Bay Wynette, Al. to Robert S. and Minnie (Veasey) Cromwell. She had a twin sister Rosy Mae. She was the eldest of her siblings and the backbone to her family. She was a former resident of Jacksonville, Fl. for many decades and recently moved to Kingsland, Ga. to be closer to family.
Ruby graduated cosmetology school in 1983 and soon opened her Barber shop off 103rd St in Jacksonville, Fl until she retired in 2013.
She was an avid gardener and always took pride in her yard. She was a member of Otis Road Church of God and before that she was a Sunday school teacher at Wesconnett Assembly of God for many years. She was a woman of Christ and studied her bible daily, she enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and faithfully donated to his ministry, she loved watching old western shows and movies, playing Rummy with family and friends, loved cooking and baking and trying new recipes. She always had a dessert prepared in case anyone came by, she loved fashion and never left her home without proper attire, accessories to match, her hair styled and makeup on. Her best companions were her dogs Sheba and Sammy who she spoiled rotten daily. She loved her family, friends and church members and will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her.

I’m so sorry for your loss my prayers and thoughts are with you guys your Mom has been a dear friend of mine for years. I will deeply miss her she was a rock for me, a prayer partner and friend I am so saddened about her unexpected death I will always remember her and love her I pray for all of you her special big family and God has her now, she has been a dear friend of mine and I don’t know what life will be like without having her to call and just speak to. I have missed her so much this past week, I’ll miss having her to pray with. She has been a rock for me especially the last couple years I’ve had a hard times and she has been there for me. So I can only imagine how hard all of this is for you all. I love you sister Ruby and will miss you.
