Sheila Valenzeula

January 15, 1962~July 15, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing
of Sheila Valenzeula, a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt,
and friend, who left us on July 15, 2025, at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville,
Florida. She was 62.
Sheila was born on November 15, 1962, in the village of Port Kaituma,Guyana, South America. She was the late Frankie and Ivy Saywack. Raised in a large and loving family, Sheila grew up with her siblings—Hilda, Solomon, Johnny, Eileen, Peter, Clive, David, Yvonne, and Doris—and held the memory of her late brother Simon close to her heart.
Sheila was a devoted and loving wife to Roy Valenzeula, and a proud and nurturing mother to her daughter, Sophia Valenzuela, and son-in-law Carlos Karim. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and open arms, not just to her immediate family but to all who knew her. Sheila was like a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews, always ready with a comforting word, a home-cooked meal, and a generous spirit. A dedicated homemaker, Sheila poured love into everything she did—from
rocking peacefully in her hammock to cooking delicious meals, shopping, walking, and traveling. She lived with joyful energy, always making time to connect with others. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, heard, and loved.
Sheila’s defining qualities were many: she was loving, helpful, kind, social, and endlessly accommodating. With her vibrant sense of humor and deepsense of compassion, she had a way of making people feel at ease and happy just being around her.
She was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and her life reached the values of her faith—kindness, service, and unconditional love.
Sheila will be remembered for the joy she brought to everyday life, the comfort she gave to those around her, and the deep love she shared with her family and community.
Details of a memorial service will be shared by the family in the coming days.
She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
