Sophronia “Alafaire” Hughes Hubbard, 87, peacefully entered Heaven on January 30, 2023 at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Florida. She was born in Lyons, Georgia to Glenn and Margaret Hughes on August 31, 1935. Alafaire is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Raymond Martin and one nephew. Left behind to cherish her memory are daughters Brenda Martin, Karen Bender (Bill), Debra Darnell (Greg), Lori Storey and son, Richard Hubbard, Jr. She is also survived by her brothers, Edwin Hardin (Kay) and Franklin Hughes as well as eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one niece and four nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Fraser Funeral Home at 8168 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32221.
