Anita Lane Lowery, age 88 Of Jacksonville Florida, passed away on June 5, 2024. Anita, born Anita Lane Honaker on July 4,1935, in Huntington, West Virginia, was a beloved mother and grandmother, dedicated church servant, and cherished member of her community.

Anita dedicated her life to her faith and community, serving as a Sunday School teacher, children’s director, and music leader at Normandy Baptist Temple. She also shared her love for God with children in her neighborhood, teaching them about the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In her professional life, Anita worked as a Book Keeper at Towers Hardware and then at Bank Of America, where she excelled in various departments before retiring in 1998. She pursued education through night school at FSCJ, highlighting her commitment to learning and growth.

Anita found joy in music and arts showcasing her creativity and passion for self-expression. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where she found solace and community in worship.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Nona Wilson (Donald), along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard David Gamble, her mother Nona Lucille Smith, sister Irma Brickle, and Brother George Thomas Honaker.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Anita’s life will be held at 10:00 am at Jacksonville Memory Garden, Inc. The compassionate team at Fraser Funeral Home, located at 8186 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32221, is assisting the family during this difficult time.

Anita Lane Lowery will be deeply missed by all who knew her but her legacy of faith, love and service will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Mrs. Lowery was a very special lady to me. We ran a bus route for Normandy Baptist Temple for years together and She was a great Christian influence in my life. My condolences to the entire family. We are praying for all. Love in Christ, Sam and Susan Wright.
