Betty JoAnn Tomlinson

Betty “JoAnn” Tomlinson passed away on March 27, 2020.
She was born on November 17, 1935 in the Marietta Community of Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Lee High School. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Tomlinson, Jr.; her parents, Albert and Verna Rudd; Brothers, Albert, Paul, Johnny and Elmer; and sisters, Mamie and Ida.
She is survived by her five children; Trena Mathis (Hayward)’ William “Billy” Tomlinson (Jilene), Mike Tomlinson, Greg Tomlinson (Melody) and Ron Tomlinson; sisters; Vi and Nita; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many more family and friends.
JoAnn retired from the Duval County School System, where she worked as a Media Specialist for over 30 years. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She remained active in the PTA and Relief Society and was also known for working in the concession for the Horse Club and local ballparks. JoAnn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a woman of grace, love and honor. She will be missed very much. Her sweet smile, her compassion and kindness, and her ability to make others feel loved will always be remembered.

A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held at a later date t the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 798 Chaffee Road, N., Jacksonville, Fl 32220. In Lieu of Flowers the family is requesting donations to The Church. For Wendy Gardner – Co worker Mrs. Tomlinson was always so sweet just a joy to be around. I’m sad to see that she has gone.
