Carol Diane Leininger 74 (born June 28th, 1947), passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, and went to be with her savior Jesus Christ, following a long courageous battle with Cancer. Carol lived in Jacksonville, FL where she resided most of her life until her passing, on March 26, 2022.
Carol is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 54 years Ronald W. Leininger SR., as well as her son Ronald W. Leininger JR. (Katie), grandson Dylan Leininger, brothers Wayne Wingate (Eula), and Terry Wingate (Lyndee), sisters Frances Murrhee, Glenda Cravey (Edgar), Helen Lee, Winona Conrad (Phil), Lynette Hunter, and Darlene Smith, sister-in-law Patricia Starling (Chris), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by siblings: Darrell Wingate, Paul Wingate, and Sandra Conrad.
After a long career as a Commercial Underwriter at the Main Street America Group INC, Carol retired from the insurance industry. She loved photography and was the official “Family Photographer” for every event! An avid reader, Carol had an ever changing collection of books that would rival any public library. She loved trips to the mountains, especially in the fall when the leaves were at their most vibrant. A member of Heavenly Heights Baptist Church for over 30 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, and organizing church events. If you had a question about a church activity, you could always “Go ask Miss Carol”. But more than anything Carol loved spending time with her family.
Carol was steadfast in her Christian Faith and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She always had a kind word for everyone she met, and a smile that would uplift your spirit. Even her name “Carol”, means joyous song, which truly represented her personality. She will live in the hearts and memories of every life she touched, and no one will ever forget the beautiful smile that she shared with us all.
In Celebration of her life, service will be held on March 30, 2022, at Heavenly Heights Baptist Church, 6680 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Viewing will be open to the public at 10:00AM, followed by the service at 11:00AM, and interment immediately following, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, located at 800 Hammond Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221.
In honor of their Aunt Carol, Pallbearers are: Michael Wingate, Darren Wingate, Mark Wingate, Danny Cravey, Paul Conrad, and Luke McLendon.

My husband & I met Carol through our daughter, who married into the Cravey family. She had such a sweet spirit about her & always had a smile. I will always remember her photography, she captured all the smiles always. Prayers for her family & blessings as well. Will miss seeing you Easter.
