Colin Wilton Horne, Jr. age 79, passed away December 17, 2022 after a long illness. Colin was born on October 5, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Colin graduated from Englewood High School in 1961 and was an all-around athlete that excelled in football, baseball and basketball. In 1962, he joined the Marine Corp and served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, in the Artillery Battery Division, as a Field Artillery Cannoneer. Colin also retired from Publix as a Produce Manager.

He loved to watch football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved his music and wathching his favorite TV shows with his two pet companions, Muffin and Sheba.

Colin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Lynn Horne, his father, Colin Wilton Horne and his mother, Nell Alice Horne. He is survived by his son, Colin Wilton Horne, III, a brother Michael R. Horne (Mary Frances Horne) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Colin’s neighbor and long-time friend, Pamela Brown for her tireless care giving.

Graveside services with US Marine Honors will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11:30 am in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Community Hospice of North Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257
