I’ll always remember my Uncle Derrell as a kind hearted gentle man. He really loved his nieces and nephews. Wish I could have went fishing with him one last time. Its really great to know that he is in heaven now enjoying the Lord, his brother Gene and Lois his mother (Nanny)….my grandmother. Until we are all together again!

This is Derrell daughter Christina at the age of 2 years old l pick Derrell to be my father at time.
I didn’t know that he and my mom was dating.
One day I broke my callor bone and had to go to the hospital.
Derrell didn’t know l was try when I seen him l said that was my daddy.
I chose him for our family

It was very hard letting you go my sweet brother, as you told me on Jan.14th, that is what you wanted, and that you were ready. I miss you terribly. I’m sure that mom and Gene were so happy to see you. I guess you have found you a rocking chair to sit in. Miss you every day.

To Estelle and Christine, I am sadden by the passing of Derrell, he was such a kind man and always a good helper at our work. Just know that he is a peace with the Lord and probably going fishing with Henry!! Gods peace to you both. Love, Donnette
