Donnie James Perry, a life-long resident of Jacksonville, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital, he was 70 years old.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen Perry; his daughters Kimberly Britton (Acesa) and Tara Martin (Coy) and step-son Allen McInnish III (Sarah); brother Stanley Perry and 8 grandchildren Madison and Ansley McInnish, Gabriel, Natalie and Stella Britton, and Kaden, Caleb and Delilah Martin. He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Perry and mother, Mary Perry; sisters Mary Francis and Jackie; brother and twin Ronnie.
Donnie was born May 24, 1952 in Jacksonville, FL to Ira and Mary Perry. He served in the United States Army and National Guard. On October 2, 1982, he married Kathy, welcoming his step-son Allen into his family. On June 19, 1985 and July 21, 1989 they welcomed their two daughters, Kim and Tara. Kathy, his girls, step-son and grandchildren were the most important people in his life.
Donnie was a devoted father. He enjoyed fishing as well as teaching his nephews and grandchildren about his love for the open water. He was a proud member of the Hyde Park Masonic Lodge #370. Becoming a Master Mason was one of his utmost accomplishments, he was able to share this with his step-son Allen and close family friend, Calvin Butler. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Fraser Funeral Home located at 8168 Normandy Blvd in Jacksonville, FL with visitation on the evening of Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Fraser Funeral Home.
