January 25, 1940~August 27, 2022

Doris L White, 82 of Bryceville, FL. has passed from this life to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ after a lengthy battle with cancer on August 27th, 2022. An only child, born in Vidalia, GA. and raised in Savannah, GA. by the late James and Evelynn Grace. In Savannah after graduating high school, she met her husband William D. White where they began raising a family of four sons, and eventually settling in Jacksonville, FL.

Relentlessly committed to her husband and children she frequently served in both parental roles because dad, while in naval service, was regularly gone on six-month deployments. Guided by her faith, she always put others first. She enjoyed fellowship in San Pablo Baptist Church as well as Bryceville First Baptist Church including teaching Sunday school for many years.

Mom had a great love for all animals but has especially enjoyed the companionship of numerous cats and dogs through the years as well as the many deer who are regulars in the Bryceville area. Other interests include fishing, roller skating, and gardening as well as time with her grandchildren, and a great fondness of Dr. Pepper!

Her father Earnest Hedrick predeceased her in 1941. Husband William D. White of 47 years predeceased her in 2007. Son George Stephen White predeceased her in 2009 at the age of 45.

She leaves behind three sons, Edward T. (Elizabeth), Warren David (Maryann), and Alonzo N. White, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held in the chapel at Fraser Funeral Home on October 8th, 2022, at 11am to 12:15pm with a graveside burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be mom’s close friend Sister Linda Hall of Bryceville.
