Elwood R. “Bud” Beck November 14, 1931 – September 15, 2020 He was born in Archbold, Ohio to Elden and Thelma Beck. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Vastie “Bobbie” Beck, his daughter, Rhonda (Keith) Cato, his son, R. Dale (Kim) Beck, a brother, Lyn Beck, three sisters; Jane Miller, Julia Boyd and Teri Huff, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters; Debra Lark Beck and Donna Beck Williamson, a sister, Alice Jordan. Bud passed away early Tuesday morning after years of enduring a long-time illness. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged as a disabled Veteran. He was a long-time member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and loved serving and sharing the Lord our Savior with others. Bud never met a stranger and became a friend to most. Many people knew him by the name of Bud, but once they got to know him well, it translated to “Bug” or “Uncle Bug” because of his love of pestering. His lifetime hobbies include fishing, carpentry, softball, singing gospel, and of course, teasing everyone. He stood strong for what is right through God’s word. Although he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, we rest assured knowing that he is in Heaven with our Savior as well as his two girls who went before him. The family will accept visitors at Fraser Funeral Home on Sunday with the family time being 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm and other guests 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Services will be held at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1372 Lane Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32205 on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:00 am with Dr. John Montgomery officiating.
