Efren Cruz Panis, age 78, passed away on August 17, 2022, surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born on June 11, 1944, in Cavite, Philippines, and brought his family here to America in 1987 from Tondo Manila, Philippines. The family resides in Jacksonville, FL.
Efren worked as an auto mechanic and always provided the best for his family. He was very well known and loved in the Jacksonville community. He was always there to help anyone with any auto work. He loves cooking and sharing a taste of all his great dishes with his family and friends. He loves singing. He was the toughest rock in our family and will be missed by many.
Efren is survived by his beloved wife, Teresita Devilleres Panis, three children, Carlos Vincent Panis, Cezelene Panis-Powell, and Efren Devilleres Panis Jr., six grandchildren, Carlissa Smith, Gabrielle Smith-Johna, Darius Smith, Tiana Panis, Alicia Panis, Isabella Powell, and one great-grandchild, Avery Johna.
A Funeral Mass Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at The Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32221 at 10:30 AM. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the mass.
