Florence H. Roberts died quietly on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Born in Warham, Massachusetts to Chester P. and Anna L. Haire on April 23, 1928. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband of 75 years Rev. Ralph Roberts, her son Ralph L. Roberts, and her sister Alice Guilford.
Florence was a devoted wife and mother, dedicating her life to supporting her family as well as anyone else who needed love and care. She opened her home and heart to anyone who needed it and never hesitated to let the light of Jesus shine through her life. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church since a child. She was a church pianist and organist for over 75 years playing for a magnitude of church services, weddings, and funerals. She retired from Riverside Hospital as an Accredited Records Technician (ART) where she was highly respected and had many friends.
She is survived by her brother Chet Haire, her two daughters Shirley Dowling and Debbie Parkington, her five grandchildren Mariah Aldridge, Phillip Croft, Kevin Ballard (Karen), Jennifer Ballard (Keith), and James Harper (Danielle), her fourteen great-grandchildren, Lindsey Nettles (Joe), Abbey Martin (Chris), Nicholas Croft, Marielle and Louis Ballard, Katie Kringe (Isaac), Laurie Gruentzel and Amy, Austin, Jacob, Jeremiah, Naomi, Jonah and Jubal Harper and two great-great-grandchildren Lydia Nettles and Reuben Gruentzel. She is also survived by many members of her extended family including beloved nieces and nephews, Jess Croft, Mike Ballard, Scott Aldridge, and many more.
Services are to be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Fraser Funeral Home at 8168 Normandy Boulevard. The interment will be at a later date.
