Frank LaVaughn Johns age 85, passed away, January 23, 2024. Frank was born on April 7, 1938 in Facil, Florida to Pearlie Mae Johns and Frank Dupree Johns. He had two brothers, Julian and Donald and a sister Betty.
Frank attended school in White Springs, Florida grades K-7, then the family moved to Live Oak, Florida and Frank graduated from Suwannee High School. While in high school he joined the band and played the saxophone and received piano lessons from the band director. His biggest achievement was being elected and serving as a Page in the House of Representative in Tallahassee for two years.
Frank attended Stetson University, graduating with a degree in Economics. He also met and married Martha Brown Johns after graduation.
Frank graduated from Stetson on Friday and began his 35 year career with the IRS on Monday, serving in Management positions.
Frank and Martha have a son, Brian Johns and a grandson, Austin Johns, both of whom reside in California.
Memorial services for Frank will be held, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00am in Episcopal Church of the Good Sheppard, 100 Stockton Street #904, Jacksonville, Fl 32204
