George Edward Gladu

May 03, 1953~July 28, 2021

George was born and raised in Coventry, Rhode Island. He served his country with honor for 6 years in the US Army and retired after 31 years from the FRC at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL as an Estimator/Planner. His favorite position was in E&E as an Engine Examiner.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Jeanne Gladu, and his sister, Vivian Saritelli.

George is survived by his wife, Kathy Gladu; his children Heather Gladu, Jessica Stewart (CJ), Tia Susany (Joshua) and Robert Roman; a brother Don Moreau, and sisters Susan Noel and Elaine Walmsley; his grandsons Payton Allen and Braylon Stewart, and many nieces and nephews.

George was a devoted Husband and Father who had many talents. He was a skilled carpenter who enjoyed multiple hobbies including mountain biking, riding his Harley, traveling, camping, kayaking, playing tennis and being surrounded by his family. He was full of life, loved his family and his country fiercely.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00am in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

George was the KINDEST & SMARTEST Man when it came to any home repair or remodel … which is so evident in his Own Home!!! George had the Greatest attitude about Trying & Doing All things & the Patience to Help & Teach others… Which is Why He Will Be So MISSED by Us ALL!!!
