Born in Corning, New York, on September 23, 1928, Glenn was the oldest, and only son, of four children born to the late Melbourne and Myrtle Barnard Riffle. After three years of service in the Air Force (1947-1950), he met Virginia Margaret Merz; they were married on June 2, 1951. She preceded Glenn in death by three weeks and one day.

Glenn, a faithful and loving father, is survived by his son, Dennis Riffle, his wife, Denise, their three children, Sarah, Rebekah and Jonathan; his daughter, Deborah Milton, her husband Jan, their three sons, Stephen, David and Jeremy; his daughter, Barbara Herdzik, her husband Matthew, their two children, Michael and Karla; his daughter, Beth Scott, her two sons, Benjamin and Jason; and his daughter, Jeannine Christian, her husband Gary, and their two children, Nicole and Grant. He is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren.

Glenn received Christ’s free gift of salvation and spent his life in service to his Savior, his family, and others. He served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, AWANA leader, and faithful church member. He spent time on the maintenance staff as a volunteer at Word of Life camp in Florida and Odosagih Bible Conference Center in New York. After retirement he served as a part-time employee for over 20 years at Trinity Baptist Church. In the Air Force, Glenn served as a radio mechanic. He worked for Moog, Inc. during its start-up years as a machinist, tool and die maker, plant supervisor and manufacturing engineer. He also spent a few years with Piper Aircraft where he was able to obtain his pilot’s license, for he loved to fly. He retired from Carlton Controls in 1991.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church, 800 Hammond Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
