James Daniel Hill Pittman

March 06, 1965~July 17, 2023

James Daniel Hill Pittman will be remembered as a “Renaissance Man.”
James was born March 06, 1965, in Jacksonville, Florida to Walter Edward Pittman and Ruby Ilene Hill Pittman. He passed away July 17, 2023, at the age of 58 at Shands Jacksonville.
James was the baby of the family, which he was very proud of.
He worked for Crown Pest Control for 35 years, he acquired his license for his work in the industry and with his work he met many people. He enjoyed meeting everyone and never met a stranger. He loved the talks he had with everyone and sharing his valuable knowledge.
James is survived by his children Richard Smith and Nicole Smith, his sister Ellen Shirley (Ricky Green), Thomas Shirley, brother Alan Pittman, sister-in-law Virginia Pittman, and the love of his life, Donna Pittman. He also leaves behind his cats Boo Boo and Lulu.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses at Shands Hospital for the care and compassion they showed for James. James said to tell you
“It was a nice ride, and he will see you on the other side.”
Forever in our hearts….

I worked with JD at Crown Pest Control for over 30 years. As an employee he always gave you his best. He was knowledgeable, loyal, dependable and friendly. Everything that you could ask for. JD was also my friend. As a friend, you knew that you could always count on him in time of need. He was always the first one to volunteer to help others. JD was my golfing buddy. We must have played 100’s of rounds of golf together, and had great times with many fond memories. JD was a fun person to be with, and had a kind and gentle soul. He will be forever missed! RIP
