Janice Lewis Caves, age 78, passed away September 18, 2020. Janice was born on May 16, 1942 in Denton, GA. Janice was the third of three children and was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Sayer, and is survived by her brother, Avin Lewis. Janice fell in love and married Arvis “Buddy” Caves in 1960. Janice was a loving mother of two children, Wayne Caves (Evelyn) and Susan Whiteman (Billy), and a wonderful Mema to four beautiful grandchildren, Ashley Merryman (Billy), Ryan Caves (Tanya), Gwyn Whiteman, and Miranda Whiteman. Janice was also a proud Mema to seven great grandchildren: Connor, Conner, Cadence, Cillian, Carrigan, Constance, and Colson. Janice spent most of her life taking care of those she loved as a homemaker. A few of the things she loved included gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and quilting; however, she enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Hortense, GA.
