Jean Christiaan Samson

December 25, 1949~August 10, 2021

On the morning of Tuesday, August 10th, 2021, Jean Christiaan Samson, beloved husband, father, and Opa, went to be with his Lord and Savior.

Jean met his wife in December of 1967, and they were married in December of 1971. He was a loving, faithful, and devoted husband for 50 years. Both Jean and Jeanne accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior in 1972. He served in the United States Navy for four years. On June 27th, 1975, he graduated from the Los Angeles Recruit Graduation Program and was sworn in as a fireman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department. He eventually was promoted to Fire Inspector and served for 34 years until he retired on July 23rd, 2009.

Always faithful in serving the Lord no matter where he was, Jean was a continual light for Jesus. He was always giving a gospel tract or witnessing to those he would meet, including his hospital nurses and doctors before he passed. He loved to golf especially with his buddies every Tuesday morning, but his most precious accomplishment to him was raising his children to love the Lord and serve Him. He was a devoted, loving Dad to his children: Irene, Paul, David, Jo, and Mike, and a fun-loving, caring Opa to his grandchildren: Lucy, Paul Jr., Peter, Kaylie, Megan, and Christiaan.

He considered himself blessed to have spent the last 11 years living in Jacksonville, Florida with his entire family by his side. We know that because he is a child of God, we will someday see him again in heaven, but he will forever be loved and missed.

Jean is survived by his wife, four children, and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, grandsons, son-in-law, and son.

We’ll be seeing you…

Dear Jeannie and Family, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss of a great man , known to me as Chris. He was my uncle and always kind to me . I know we’ve been out of touch but he still will be remembered lovingly . I remember when I was little and he lived with his parents on Bellingham. He’d be in his room doing his homework, but, he would come out and visit with me , or we would watch football together. I also remember seeing him last at his Moms apartment in Burbank . We were both visiting her and trying to take care of her .I ending up moving to Kansas to raise my daughter and I know later , you both took Oma in . Thank you for that , I know it was a big deal . ❤️????God Bless him and you . ???????? Love , Iris White / Agnes Samson’s daughter ???? If u want to reach out my address is : 1405 S. Olive , Pittsburg, Kansas 66762. 620-231-5402
