Larry Blease Henderson, aged 74 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away in his home on Thursday morning, June 10th, 2021. Born December 19th, 1946 in Plant City, Florida, Larry retired from the US Navy after twenty years of service, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He enlisted December 31st, 1963, at the age of seventeen and served during the Vietnam War off the coasts of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia on the flight decks of US aircraft carriers. Through much of his career he served with attack squadron VA-46 “The Clansmen” based out of Cecil Field Naval Air Station and deployed aboard the USS Forrestal, USS Enterprise, USS America and USS John F Kennedy. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing with his many grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Candace Henderson and his sister Judy Whitson. His surviving children are Christian Henderson and wife Jennifer, their three children Emma and her fiancé Robert Collot, Natalie and Jacob; Jason Henderson and his wife Judy, their two children Juliette and James; Erin Henderson and her husband Darrik Frazier, their five children Kerry, Kally, Jayden, Knox and Dean. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 18th at 10:00 AM at the church he attended, The Church at Suncoast, 4200 Georgetown Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32210. The service will be officiated by his son, Reverend Jason Henderson. He will be interred at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.
