Funeral services for Margaret Wells Gladden (84) of Jacksonville, FL, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Chapel of Fraser Funeral Home officiated by Craig Nelson. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, FL. Family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Fraser Funeral Home.
Margaret was born October 10, 1937 in Eskdale, West Virginia to Dorothy and Ebbie Wells. Following a brief illness she passed away surrounded by her family on July 13, 2022 at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Margaret started working for the C & P Telephone Company in Charleston, West Virginia as a phone operator out of high school and retired from Bell South after 37 years of service with the Planning and Budgeting Department. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Margaret, she loved spending time with her girls, family, reading books, the coloring app on her phone and her grandchildren and great grandsons.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Aubry Gladden, parents and brother in law Ed Hagan and is survived by her daughters Kara Prevatt of Jacksonville, FL and Louise (Bryan) Prevost of Thomson, GA; 3 sisters Phyllis (Ed) Hagan, June ( Dan) Bush, Nancy ( Ron) Rippetoe and 3 brothers Randall Wells, John (Gail) Wells and Tom Wells; 2 grandchildren Wesley Prevatt and Jessica (Thomas) Turner and 4 great-grandsons Landan Prevatt, Lelan Prevatt, Thomas Aiden Turner and Ambrose Turner and several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
