Margie Maltbie Crews

February 28, 1937~January 25, 2021

Margie Maltbie Crews was taken up to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021. She was 83 years old. She was from Albertville, AL, and re-settled in the Jacksonville, FL area with her husband Jack Crews in 1962. She lived in Middleburg, FL for 28 years. She was a waitress at local restaurants such as The Food Basket and others in her younger years. She had four children: Pamela Howard of Albertville, AL, Johnny R. Crews, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Loretta Fales (deceased) and Lonnie Crews (deceased). She was stepmother to Johnny, Loretta, and Lonnie, but she was always mama to them as if they were her own. Margie’s life on this earth was filled with giving and loving unconditionally and unselfishly to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading Harlequin romance novels and playing computer games. She had a hearty laugh and loved to cook and eat good Southern food. She loved to go on road trips to Alabama and Tennessee with her family. Everybody who ever met her over the years knew she was a very loving and caring person and accepted you as you were; she always found the good in everyone and never made you feel like you were being judged. Whether she was sick or not, she would always say, “I’m fine, I’m a doin’ okay”, or “I don’t need nothin”. Margie loved the Lord and God’s Word, the Holy Bible. She was very instrumental in instilling Godly values to her children and everyone she met. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart, the Gaithers, and other Southern gospel music ministers. She attended Paxon Revival Center Church and Evangel Temple Assembly of God for many years. She was loved by her family, friends and neighbors and will be greatly missed. She made a difference in so many peoples’ lives.
