It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearly loved, Michele Louise De La Hunt of Jacksonville, FL on December 6, 2022.

Michele was born on February 24th, 1965, in Jacksonville, FL. As a child she was active playing softball and cheerleading. She attended Paxon Senior High School where was trained as a Naval Sea Cadet at NAS Jacksonville. Michele met her husband in high-school and later married Billy De La Hunt Jr. on May 28th, 1982. Michele and Billy went on to start a family, living in Greenville, FL before settling in Jacksonville with their two sons, Billy De La Hunt III and Jason De La Hunt.

Michele worked for 10 years at a Fast Track Convience store, working her way up to a manager position. She also volunteered as a substitute teacher at Greenville Middle School where her children attended. Michele and her husband served their community by volunteering for the Greenville Fire Department. However, her main occupation was being a mother and homemaker. She had a strong love for her children and later her grandchild, Olivia (Lily) De La Hunt. Her love and care extended to her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and extended family. Michele loved to laugh and have a good time with everyone around. She loved to be funny and had a quick wit with others. Growing up she loved spending time with family camping at the Jetties and as an adult she loved fishing with her beloved husband. Michele faced many challenges in life and persevered through them all. Her strong will and spirit did not change as she began to face many health challenges over the past years. Michele attended New Hope Baptist Temple and was a person of faith.
