Monty “Shawn” Blocker, age 56, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Born October 23, 1964, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Shawn was raised and spent most of his life in Jacksonville, where he worked as a funeral attendant at Fraser Funeral Home. Shawn was a jokester and loved to make others laugh. One thing he did not joke about was his love for football and The Florida Gators.Most importantly Shawn was a Christian and is now in The Lords kingdom of eternal life.
He was Preceded in death by His great-grand Mothers, Lillie Blocker and Eulala “Lala” Bradley. great-grandparents, Homer and Velma Holcolmbe. Grandparents, William and Elise Blocker and Edna Conner. His mother, Sonja Blocker. sister, baby Sonja and brother in-law, Jim Gentry, aunt, Eloise Kight.
uncles, Charles Kight, Durward Blocker and Gene Vickery.Great-aunts, Dot Cheatham and Elsie Cornelius, cousins, Jason Kight and Adam Wade. His very best fur friend Otto Blocker.
Shawn is survived by his father, Aubrey Blocker, his sister, Gina Blocker Gentry, his brother Kevin Blocker, his niece, Paige Blocker Saylor (James), Great-Nephew and nieces, Brendyn, Ayla and Fiona Saylor. Many More aunts, uncles, cousins, and close Friends.
Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 11:00am in the Chapel of Fraser Funeral Home with Glenda Rambo officiating followed by internment at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, September 6, 2021.
