We are heartbroken with the passing of our neighborhood mom. We are so much better today because of her constant watch over us as we played in the neighborhood. She was always there to help or to offer words of advice. She didn’t hesitate to yell at us or rat us out to our parents when we needed it. All of us neighborhood kids have lost a big part of our childhood with her passing. May her family find peace and comfort during this difficult time. You will remain in our prayers. Much love, Carol Martin Batista & Chip Martin

I was proud to call her mama. She was there through thick and thin for me and my brothers. She is dearly missed but we are grateful that she could join my dad, Homer Dowden in heaven. She missed him every day since his passing.

Family, we are so sorry to hear this news. We were so blessed to have “Nanny” Myrtice care for our children up until the time they started school. We have such special memories of her and Homer and the love they shared for all the kids they took care of. She will always have a special place in our hearts.
