Phillip Robert Roton, age 70, passed away, October 25, 2022. Phillip was born on December 20, 1951 in Jacksonville, FL to the parents of Joseph and Sophia Roton. He grew up on the northside of Jacksonville and joined the Navy in 1969 and served four years during the Vietnam War era. He was honorably discharged in 1973. His tour in the Navy consisted of approximately two years on Navy Tug Boats in San Francisco Bay and served two years aboard the USS Charleston LKA113 out of Norfolk, VA. After leaving the Navy Phil became a truck drive and worked for Mack Papers for many years. Phil was a sold out Christian, and loved the Lord with all his heart.

Phil also loved to sing. He had an awesome baritone voice and preformed on stage in many venues. He preformed solo and many times preformed in the group “Crossroads”. Phil had his own karaoke business called “Phil Harmonics” and even cut a couple of CDs.

Phil was also and avid Gator fan. He loved to watch sports of many types, but especially the Florida Gators!

Phil was known for his tender heart and generous nature. He was very opinionated and had no problem telling you his take on things, right off! He would defend his Christian beliefs with all his heart. Phil was an outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. He really loved his boat and fishing with his brother, Kenneth, and his friends.

He had a military mind and loved reading and talking about battles in history and types of weapons with his brother. Phil was an awesome person and we will miss him for the rest of our lives. We know where he is and that we will see him again soon, because he loved the Lord with all his heart and professed his Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Phil was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Sophia Roton, and a sister, Linda Darlene Plunk.

Phil is survived by his brother, Kenneth Lerue Roton (Janice), a brother-in-law, Morris Plunk, his sweet fiancé, whom he loved spending time with, Norma Saget; his nephews, Patrick Hasty (Alicia) and Richard Plunk, a niece, Julie Roton, his great nieces, Olivia Hasty and Keira Hasty and a great nephew, Trenton Hasty.

Graveside services will be held, Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 2:30PM in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Fl 32218 with US Navy Honors.
