William B Hannah

July 02, 1956~October 17, 2022

William “Bill” “Glory” Hannah, 66, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17th, 2022 after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

William was born on July 2nd, 1956. He was raised and grew up on the Westside of Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Paxon Senior High School in 1975 as a star athlete. He had a lifelong career in transportation fleet maintenance services and excelled in leadership among his colleagues and peers. Above all, he shared the love of Christ to everyone he met.

He married his high school sweetheart Alicia Wingate Hannah, wife of 47 years and together they raised a family of six children. William’s love for family was unconditional and sacrificial much like his life in the service of the church. He was a member and ordained deacon of West Normandy Baptist Church and served beside his Pastor and friend Dwayne Sumner. In his years serving the body of Christ, Bill taught newlyweds, young married, widows, boys Sunday school from grade school to high school. He greatly influenced the lives of everyone he ministered to and all will remember Bill for his legendary shout of GLORY!

During his life he enjoyed all College sports with fierce loyalty to the Florida Gators. He also loved encouraging people, telling jokes and sharing epic stories like only he could do. He loved taking pictures, enjoyed his homecooked meals and his roasted/boiled peanuts. But most importantly Bill loved God and sought to serve and honor Him through loving others and teaching Gods truth. When given the opportunity, he was passionate and heartfelt to preach the Word of God.

William was preceded in death by his adopted father Samuel Hannah Jr, his mother Sarah Rhoden Graham and sister Laurie Graham. He is survived by his wife Alicia Wingate Hannah, his sisters Lisa (Craig) Chamberlain, Lillian (David) Brown, his sons William (Amanda) Hannah, James (Lexus) Hannah, David (Ivey) Hannah, and his daughters Carrie Hannah, Amelia Hannah, Samantha Hannah, 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth Hannah, Katherine Hannah, Kason Hannah, Emma Hannah, Jonah Hannah, August Hannah.
