In Loving Memory Of
Bethel Edward Ragland III
Also known as Eddie
February 9, 1966 -
May 5, 2026
In the care of
Fraser Funeral Home
Bethel Edward Ragland III, known to most as Eddie, and to a lucky few as Dad, was born on February 9th, 1966, and passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2026, at the age of 60. He lived and died a proud member of the Westside community of Jacksonville, Florida, a place he loved as much as it loved him
back.
After graduating from Ed White High School and marrying the love of his life, Lisa, Eddie went to trade school and became a journeyman plumber before eventually forging his own landscaping business. Ragland & Sons Landscaping has been operating for more than 33 years and continues on under the tutelage of Eddie’s son Victor.
Eddie was known for his faith, compassion, and his joy and fervor for life. Whether coaching his children’s sports teams or leading men’s groups at Riverstone Community Church, he was a leader, a father, and a friend that could be counted on by anyone. He had a rare gift: the kind of thoughtfulness that made everyone feel genuinely seen and cared for, and a sincere interest in connecting with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Bethel Edward Ragland and Julia Anne Trice Oakley.
He is survived by a family that loved him deeply: His wife, Lisa Loveless Ragland; His children and their families: Zach and his partner Michael; Victor and TBD; Maddie, her husband Justin, their daughter Leighton, and son Eddie, who is still on the way; Bethany, her husband Zach, and their daughter Evelyn; Allie, her husband Micah, and their son Oliver; His brother, Mike Ragland, his wife Michelle, and their two sons Cody and his wife Becca (and Reuben, also on the way) and Chad and his fiancé Gabby.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00PM in Riverstone Community Church, 6800 W. Fifth Street, Jacksonville, FL 32254 with Pastor Rick Baldwin and Pastor Mike Ragland officiating followed by interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32221 on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 5:00 – 8:00PM
In addition to flowers (because who doesn’t love flowers!), the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to the COA General Support Fund, so the fight against this rare and relentless disease can carry on.
