Betty “Joyce” Stewart, age 76, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. Born on August 10, 1949, in Collinsville, Mississippi, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Albert Jones and Claudette Jones (Memaw). She lived a life filled with love and family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband, Tim Stewart; and her cherished daughter, Tonya Butler Michel, her brothers and sisters Barbara (Bobbie) Helm, Paula Onoroto, Kevin (Butch) Jones, Keith (Buddy) Jones, Chris Jones, Wanda Drinkwater, Debbie Marrone, and Donna McCraney. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her children, Tommy Butler (Tammie) and Timothy Butler (Donna); her (daughter in law) Julie Butler, stepdaughters, Kerri Stewart Hall (Sean) and Kelli Ramirez (Richard) sisters, Janie Swearingen, Shelia Vigal (Clif); Pat Hughes, Rhonda Lambert (Neal); Joanie Hopkins, Kim Jones, Janice Lewis (Glen); Theresa Carpenter and brothers Mike Jones, Randy Sevearance, Buddy Sevearance and Charles Jones; and her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her “Sugar Babies”: Dalton Butler (Lauren), Tyler Schubert, Marley Farhat, Justin Ramirez (Erica), Mallory Henry (Dustin), Emily Hall, and 3 great-grands with one on the way who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind many precious nieces, nephews and lifelong friends that will miss her dearly.

Joyce’s life was a beautiful testament to resilience, kindness, and unwavering love for both her family and her faith. She touched the lives of everyone around her with her warm heart and infectious laughter, always making each person feel truly special. Joyce cherished simple joys—lunches with friends, lively games of Bunco and other games of chance, and travel – especially cruises - that always brought new adventures. Her daily conversations with Harriet were a source of comfort and connection, while butterflies and cardinals reminded her of beauty in everyday moments.
Above all, Joyce treasured time spent with family, whether traveling with Tim, sharing stories over a good book, or dancing with joy. Her spirit was a beacon of love and generosity, and her memory will live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th from 5-7 p.m. at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Boulevard. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19th 11 a.m. (visitation starting at 10 a.m.) at Jones Road Baptist Church, 2506 Jones Road, with Pastor Mike Reed officiating.
