In Loving Memory Of
Brenda Crook Bennett
September 24, 1955 -
May 27, 2026
In the care of
Fraser Funeral Home
Brenda Crook Bennett, age 70, passed away on May 27, 2026.
Brenda lived life on her own terms. In her younger years, she was the wild child—the rebel who wasn’t afraid to go against the grain, challenge expectations, and follow her own path. Strong-willed, independent, and fearless, she approached life with a spirit that could never be contained.
As the years passed, that same strength evolved into something many people came to value deeply. Brenda became someone others could turn to when they needed a listening ear. She was a person people felt comfortable confiding in, knowing they would be met without judgment. Whether through a conversation, a laugh, or simply her presence, Brenda had a way of making people feel understood and connected.
She enjoyed collecting treasures, sharing jokes, keeping a clean home, and spending time with friends and loved ones. Her sense of humor, resilience, and authenticity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Nancy Crook; her brother, Troy; her sisters, Kay, Carol, and Peggy her children, Terry Thompson, Travis Thompson, Jessica French, and Leslie Bennett; her grandchildren, Breanna, Amber, Kelsie, Ty, Carter, Riley, Toby, and one grandchild expected later this year; and her great-grandchildren, A’riah, Armani, and great-grandson Leo, whose photo she was blessed to see shortly before her passing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Crook, and her brother, Archie.
Though Brenda’s journey has come to an end, the connections she made and the lives she touched will continue to carry her memory forward. She will be remembered for her strength, her honesty, her compassion, and her ability to make people feel accepted exactly as they were.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and expressions of sympathy during this difficult time.
“To know her was to love her, and her memory will remain in our hearts forever.”
