Florence “Granny” Jessie Wright, 96, passed away on June 6, 2026. Born in Michigan, she spent most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida, where she had resided since childhood.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Wright.
Florence is lovingly remembered by her son, Doug Wright (Myra); her daughters, Marie Smith (Bobby), and Tina Tabbot (Jack); seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A devoted homemaker, Florence was also a longtime member of Hart Haven Baptist Church. She loved Jesus deeply and found great joy in caring for her family. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, and traveling when possible.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Hart Haven Baptist Church, 47 Jim Wright Rd., Jacksonville. A small reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Community Hospice & Palliative Care, Jacksonville. Interment will be private at Riverside Memorial Park.
